Garden Inn by Hilton (Bordeaux, France)

I had plenty of time this morning to get ready from my trip to Paris this morning. Was out the door and on my way, via Uber, to the train station at 10:10 for my 11:04 TGV train to Paris.

I had assigned seats and sat at one end of the carriage near a group of very tired young men who seemed to sleep during most of the two hours it took the train to reach Paris. My guess is that they were out late the night before.

My final destination was the Hilton at the Charles de Gaulle Airport. It took a ride on the Metro and RER train to get me all the way to the airport. It all went very smoothly.

Once I got checked in and in my room I then took the shuttle to the terminal where I’ll meet my brother, niece and her son tomorrow. Just so I’m familiar with the layout. The hotel shuttle made it easy to get there and back within an hour. While at the airport I picked up a sandwich to eat for dinner later on.

I took a good nap and woke up to unpack a little bit and write my blog from yesterday’s wine tour, then ate my sandwich. I was still tired so I went to bed early but woke up at around midnight and stayed up for a bit longer before feeling tired again.

Tomorrow I’m meeting everyone at around 9:00 at terminal 2A. The CDG airport is very large. I had no idea how spread out it was. Glad I made the exploratory trip today and look forward to seeing family tomorrow.
