Sofia, Bulgaria (Sveti Naum Street)
A very quiet day for me. I’ve decided that my time here will be better used to plan for future trips and prepare for my next stop in Cypress. Sofia, while a nice place, doesn’t have much interest for me. Or I could be avoiding the hot a muggy weather. Or maybe a combination of the two?
My only planned outside activity for today was to walk to the nearby mall to buy a new cap for my head and buy a couple of items at the grocery. I needed to leave the flat by 11:30 a.m. so the housekeeper could come and change the bedding and towels and do some light cleaning.
While in the mall I stopped in at a Costa Coffee for an iced latte and a blueberry muffin. I found a hat at a Reserved store. I’m now committed to wearing a hat to protect the top of my head from more sun damage. I had quite a time finding the right hat, but settled on one that had “Lost” printed above the hat’s bill. (See a picture of the had via the link below.)
I found what I needed at the grocery store and walked back to the flat. The housekeeper had finished and I took a nap on refreshed bed.
After the nap I started a load of wash and worked on my travel blog. For dinner I ate a bowl of chicken soup. Later I spoke to a friend in the U.S. and then watched a couple of episodes of “The Expanse” before going to bed.
Tomorrow I’ll continue to prepare for my next adventures. My primary need is to to ensure that a taxi will be here at 3:00 a.m. Sunday to drive me to the airport. My Airbnb host said she would help ensure that a taxi will be here.
