Prague, Czech Republic (8 Bechynova, Prague 6)
I stayed in the Prague Hilton last night rather than the Airbnb since I was getting in late the night before. I’m scheduled to meet my Airbnb host at 1:00 p.m. so had time to sleep in and have a good breakfast before catching a taxi to the flat, where I’ll stay for four nights.
My Airbnb host, an architect who teaches at the nearby Czech Technical University, welcomed me as he finished getting the place ready. He wasn’t satisfied with the way his housekeeper left the flat, so he made sure it was perfect. He spent nearly an hour outlining what I could see while I’m in the area. In this case, Prague 6. He filled my head with so much to see that is within walking distance.
The flat is well-designed and has many built-ins and hand-crafted furniture. Big balcony with a great view of the city. And a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances.
After he left, I went to the store to buy ingredients for dinner. I’m having my usual roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. The weather was warming up and I was hot when I got back to the flat with the groceries. I took a quick nap before starting to make dinner. Also, I have a lot of laundry to do and will take advantage of the washer/dryer combo machine.
The neighborhood is very quiet and I enjoyed looking out the window as the sun was setting.
Tomorrow I’m visiting the Prague Castle and the surrounding area. It is about a 30 minute walk from here so think I’ll get some good walking in tomorrow.
