Warsaw, Poland (Hampton by Hilton, Central Warsaw)
Today is my last day in Warsaw. It was good walking weather again and I headed off in the direction of Old Mokotow. This area of Warsaw was not impacted during the 1939 bombings as much since it was still an independent town. It now has many nice homes and apartments. Also several parks are in this part of the city.
After about an hour of walking I started to get a migraine. It wasn’t bad, just annoying. I was having trouble with my vision, but it cleared up. I knew that later I was start to have a headache, but I kept on walking.
I took several pictures and posted them in the new spot where I’m keeping my photos. (See the link below.) Was impressed with the statue of Chopin, located near the botanical gardens.
Mainly just walked around and watched families with their children. Stopped and had a coffee at a Starbucks and sat outside. A very relaxing afternoon!
I’m starting to think about how to plan out the next few weeks when I visit the Czech Republic, Slovokia, Romania, and Bulgaria. I’d like to get all the reservations made in the next week or so. We will see.
Tomorrow I leave by train for Krakow, south of Warsaw. I’m going by high-speed train and will be on the train from 11:45 a.m. to 2:15. Not sure how many days I’ll be in Krakow since hotel availability was limited at the time I made my reservations. From there, I can fully plan out visits for the next month.
