Edinburgh, Scotland (23 Great King Street)
Was up early to be ready to leave Edinburgh for London at 10:30 a.m. from Waverley Station. I’m going to miss Edinburgh but will return next year. As I was leaving the flat I felt there was something I forgot. Who knows what it could have been, but I’m sure if I did, my hosts will let me know. Again, I’d like to comment again how terrific they were.
I took a couple of pictures of Edinburgh as I rolled my suitcase down the ramp into the station.
The train departed on time. After settled in I realized that this was one time when I should have upgraded to first class. A mother and child sitting behind me where having trouble getting settled and the train was very full. I decided to make the most of it and enjoyed my ride anyway.
I moved around to several empty seats during the trip for added variety, and that worked, and the 4 1/2 hour trip was over fairly quickly. Viktor was waiting for me at Kings Cross station and we took a taxi to my hotel. Prean is in India and returning to London tomorrow, so will get caught up with him later.
After Viktor left, I took a quick nap then walked around the neighborhood and found a McDonald’s. The question about what to eat for dinner was solved. When I got back to the hotel room I watched the new season of “The Crown”. I had been watching “The Roosevelts” but the new season of “The Crown” won out.
Tomorrow I really don’t have anything planned, though will pick up a power adaptor for Corrine and an Oyster Card for her as well. One last day of rest before Corrine and I start our London adventures.
