Edinburgh, Scotland (23 Great King Street)

Shorter days in Edinburgh now. Sunrise is around 8:20 a.m. and sunset is now 3:45 p.m. Last year at this time I was in Iceland and the days were even shorter. “Make hay while the sun shines.”

Not much going on today. Mainly worked on my Early Memories and updated travel blog postings.

No need to cook anything since I’m still enjoying the beef stew I made yesterday. Spoke with my friend Marty for over an hour. She and I have been friends for many years and keeps me updated on what’s happening in Hood River.

My evenings are being taken up by binge watching “Salvation”. It’s really starting to get good, but I’m pacing myself so I don’t watch all of the episodes at once.

Tomorrow I’ll venture outside and pick up my Amazon order and a few supplies at the store. I’m thinking about visiting nearby Stirling Castle next week.

  1. Hi Phil! Just got back from 3 days working in Hood River at our co-op gallery (Art on Oak) and staying the night at my friend Jill’s in Parkdale. Talk about happenings in Hood River! Friday night was the Christmas parade and tree lighting-I bet you have attended this at some point (hopefully in your childhood!) The parade was the bomb-cheering citizens, happy kids, every plumbing, carpenter, and garbage truck festooned with lights and honking to beat the band. The Mexican horsepeople with the best horse somehow covered in glitter along with strung with lights calmly clomping along while people cheered. The perfect small town parade! Happy Holidays! We miss you!
