Edinburgh, Scotland (1 Belgrave Place)
After getting up and ready for a new day, I did my laundry and worked on some finances. Also put out my travel “souvenirs” for display.
My collection is a bit random. To the left is my old phone that I dropped and cracked the screen last Christmas in Westminster Abbey, to the right of the phone is a piece of brick from the ranch home in Grass Valley, above the phone is my mouse that wore out in Vienna and had to get a new one, to the right is a pen that was given to me by Ori, Cousin Molly’s husband, after the amazing dinner/wine tasting in Darmstadt (I’ll give away the pen at some point), the white smooth rock is from Isle of Man, a bottle opener (that I’ve never used) from Brussels, two rocks from Zermatt, Switzerland, a plaque from my church, an Egyptian scarab and obelisk, a key fob from Dublin, a feather from my trip to the Outer Hebrides with Barbara and Mary, and of course Paddington Bear from London, gifted to me by Prean and Viktor. There is no criteria as to what gets added and when. Just when I feel when the time is right.
I decided it was time to roast a chicken for dinner. I used one of the two ovens in the kitchen and it turned out perfect. Think I’ve made a roasted chicken at least 30 times so far. Potatoes and peas rounded out the meal.
I stayed up way too late last night binge watching a new series on Netflix, “Stranger Things”. Part sci-fi and part fantasy. It has been getting good reviews and I can see why.
Tomorrow I definitely need to get a haircut. I’ve been putting it off while my face was healing. Didn’t want to gross out the barber.
