The winds from Hurricane Ophelia blew all night (30 – 35 mph) and into the early morning, but that is all. No rain, which is surprising. Pretty much slept through it.
Not quite feeling well this morning. I’ve been using Efudex for a little over a week and think it may have something to do with it. (Efudex is an ointment used to treat pre-cancerous cells on my face.) I generally use this once a year, then see a dermatologist to see if there are any growths that need to be frozen. If necessary, the growths have to removed by surgery. Nothing serious, just an inconvenience. My face gets a little blotchy and it hurts a little. I’ll keep applying the ointment twice a day until this Friday, then the redness will go away in about a week.
This downtime gave me the opportunity to work on estate planning. This was the last task to do before I left the U.S. and have been putting it off. I’m sure there might be some friends and family who have wondered about my plans if something should happen to me while I’m traveling around. I’ve wondered the same thing. That is what I need to get wrapped up over the next couple of days.
I’ve already put together a Will and named an executor. But no one knows where all my accounts are located and how to access them. My financial planner knows, but she doesn’t know who my executor is or how to access the accounts. I have a list of accounts, user name and passwords, but I need to organize the list and share it with my executor, then let family and my financial planner know who has the list.
That is what I did for a few hours today. Organize the list and shared the list via OneDrive to my executor. Having it located on OneDrive (cloud storage) will let me update the list and have it current, which I’ve done over the last couple of years. 15 years ago I used to have the same user name and password for all of my accounts. That isn’t a good idea any more with the number of hackers who make a good living by accessing people’s unsecured accounts.
The day wasn’t a total loss. I did make contact with a friend who I haven’t spoken with for at least 10 years. Talked to another friend via Messenger today and got caught up. And another friend is thinking about visiting me in London in December.
Tomorrow I’ll make some revisions to my Will and get it ready to have my friends Prean and Viktor witness it when I see them in December. Or I might be able to get them to visit me in Edinburgh. The place I’m moving to on the 28th has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. I’m ready for company.
