I woke up early this morning, at 6:15 a.m., and remembered that coffee and breakfast was being served starting at 6:30. Once I knew there was breakfast waiting it wasn’t possible to go back to sleep. I was dressed and in the restaurant within 5 minutes. Amazing what you can accomplish when motivated.
When I returned to my room, think it was the comfortable bed that called me back and fell asleep for nearly two hours. Housekeeping was even quiet this morning and not working on a nearby room. Don’t they know there is a retired person in room 632 who is sleeping late?
When I left my room again I saw the housekeepers and let them know that I would return by 1:30 and that my room was now available to them. I always leave a tip and when I returned I had a nice “Thank You” waiting for me on the counter.
Today, mainly walked around and visited a number of shops. Liverpool One, the large mall in the city center, is just across from the Hilton. Enjoyed watching the people and getting in some walking exercise. When I returned to the hotel I stopped for some tea and a cookie before heading upstairs.
I really wasn’t interested in visiting museums or attractions today. So I didn’t. Still tired, so took another nap. When I woke I realized that I didn’t have lunch. No wonder I was hungry. Keeping with the theme of today, and to make it simple, ate at McDonald’s and walked around some more.
When I returned, I answered an email from Cousin Ori who suggested a number of activities for when I visit them on the 2nd and 3rd of September. I said “yes” to all of them. I’m very much looking forward to spending time with them next month. Last night I heard back from Andre and Matt who I’ll see in Munich from September 10 – 13. Looks like I’m flying to Frankfurt, then to Italy, then back to Munich. Maybe that is why I’m resting so much – getting ready for a couple of busy weeks.
