Plenty of rain today. The day started partly cloudy and with a forecast of a few showers in the afternoon. What actually happened were periods of thunder showers for the rest of the day and into the evening. From where I’m staying, fun to watch the weather approach and periodic sun breaks. Though have problems viewing the screen on my laptop when there is full sun – one of the downsides from having so many windows in one room.

Given the unpredictability of the weather, I decided to stay around home. Went to the store and picked up the ingredients for making leek potato soup. I’ve made this before and it is fairly easy. And a good excuse to try out the new stock pot. Washing and cutting the leeks is about the only time-consuming part of the process.

Amazing how a day can go by and you don’t accomplish much. Had plenty of email to answer, so I did that for part of the day. Re-arranged the kitchen and bedroom (again). Feels good to make this temporary home feel more like my own place rather than a place that I’m renting for a few weeks.

In the evening, I watched one of my fun movies to watch. “Explorers” – a movie that was made in the mid-80’s and featured a young River Phoenix and Ethan Hawk when they were just kids. One of the first movies I rented way-back-when that I played back with surround speakers. Ah the memories….

Between 6:00 – 10:00 I start getting texts from friends. Either they are finishing up with work (from people on this side of the world) or at work in North America. Also a good time to call businesses in North America.

Tomorrow is expected to be fair weather most of the day. I have a few places to visit and will get up early so I can get out and enjoy touring while the weather is nice.
