Sunny and breezy here in Dublin today. No major plans for the day, just a few things on my to-do list and a good excuse to take a walk or two. First was to exchange the 50 Kuna note from Dubrovnik that I found while unpacking. I confirmed that a place not too far away can exchange it for about 7 Euro. Then to buy a stock pot (about 13 Euro). Checked out movie times for the cinema across the street. Also, buy some books on Dublin and something about driving around Ireland – found both at this bookstore I saw during my first walk.
Took a couple of pictures of the Ha’ Penny Bridge, then walked over it.
Later in the afternoon I took a fairly long walk away from the center of Dublin to the southwest direction. I’m getting very familiar with central Dublin now.
Both walks got me up to nearly 14,000 steps for the day. On my second walk I noticed that there is a walk-in clinic on the corner where I could go if I needed to get checked out in a hurry.
Below is a picture of the building where my flat is located. I drew a circle around my flat. (Drew the circle too big – I’m just living on the top floor.) From here I can see in two different directions so I can see the incoming weather before heading out the door.
In the afternoon I read through the one book for more ideas on what to see and do in Dublin. I’ll start making a list and assigning dates to visit those of interest. I’ve been finding other events in Dublin as well as the InterNations events. Spoke to a friend last week who visited Ireland and she had a list of places to visit as well.
Time to update my calendar!
