Was up early this morning to do extra cleaning before my Airbnb host shows up at 10:00 to clean the flat. Don’t like anyone to clean up after me, and also, I like getting a good reference from them when I leave.
This week (as opposed to last week when I took a taxi), I took public transportation to the dentist. My cleaning (a deep cleaning of my gums) will take place over two appointments. One today and the next tomorrow. Now that I’m more familiar with the transit system in Budapest, I’m more confident to be somewhere on time. It isn’t a direct route, but fairly straightforward to take the Metro 3 train, transfer to the Metro 2 line, then walk for 20 minutes. Easy!
It snowed a little last night. Thought it was going to be sunny. Guess Mother Nature had something else in mind.
I took a picture inside the Metro 2 train. They are very long. Tried to get a picture showing the length of the train, from the inside. And the names of the stops – I almost have to memorize each of the station names to know when to get off – or to know if I’m on the right train!
Not easy is sitting in a dentist’s chair for an hour. Oh well, it has got to be done. I’ll be better an making more appointments to get my teeth cleaned. In the waiting room, each chair has a screen to access the Internet. You can select your language before starting. Very nice!
When I got home, the flat was perfectly clean and the bedding was changed too. Good thing, because all I wanted to do is take a nap and wait for the numbing affect to go away. Just one more day…
Tonight I get to warm up the Hungarian Goulash (Gulyás) from last night. It really is a great hearty soup for a cold winter day. Rather than write out the recipe, here is the link: https://www.budapestbylocals.com/hungarian-goulash.html
