This morning I woke to sunshine! Guess I got spoiled in Egypt where most every day had some sun. For breakfast, I made some french toast and topped them off with peanut butter. I’ll need to visit the store today and continue stocking the shelves with food.
After breakfast I started on my taxes again. TurboTax makes it very easy, but its like reading a book where you don’t know how the story turns out until the end. To pay, or not to pay…. Which reminds me of the horse cab driver in Luxor who started reciting Shakespeare as we rode down the street – I sure didn’t see that one coming.
Today was my first day at Gold’s Gym. Always a little awkward stepping into a gym with new equipment. Just a few people there and I managed to get in a fairly good workout in about 45 minutes. Keeping it easy for the first few days.
After getting home from the gym and having a shower, I got ready for a walk to the mega store about 1.5 km away. The day was turning out to be very nice and found that most of the ice on the sidewalks had melted. The Tesco store that I went to was about the size of a Fred Meyer and took my time walking up and down the isles to see the variety of products offered. Picked up a couple of coffee mugs and a new towel along with a few food items.
The walk back was very nice and almost warm. I even took off my coat and was fine without it. When I got back to the flat, I opened up the door to the balcony and let in some fresh cool air. I can finally see the marina and also the Danube as well. The fog has been so thick the past couple of days that I couldn’t see more than 100 feet.Think I’m going to like it here.
Tonight I’ve been talking with people from the U.S. and also working on taxes. The past couple of nights I’ve enjoyed getting caught up with the Ellen Show via her webpage that makes available edits of past shows. A great way to relax and be entertained.
Ah! Just got an invitation to meet up with the InterNations guys who have a motorbike club. I’m sure they have some great stories! Wolfgang was telling me last night that he, his brother, and some other friends are biking through Nepal and the Himalayas for a few weeks this summer. (No, I’m not going – will leave adventures like that to the pros and will look forward to hearing about the trip later.)
