From Edinburgh to London: 9 December 2016

Arrived late into Edinburgh last night, but managed to get some good sleep. Had a lot of “Lessons Learned” at the hotel I stayed at. (More of this later…) Maybe a future update date will have a “How-To” for booking and other lodging essentials.

Had a good breakfast, got packed and grabbed a taxi to Waverly Station to catch the train (Virgin Express) to London’s King Cross Station. Left at 12:30 and arrived at 16:55. Took the underground to Victoria Station, then a taxi to my home for the next 30 days.

I decided to take a few pictures that show the train at Edinburgh’s Waverly Station and some others. including a couple of videos.

  1. I like all the train pictures but then there is not much I don’t like about trains, and the underground. In my other life, living in the eastern part of the US, my friends said I would be happy with a free after noon and a roll of subway tokens. They were right I loved to ride the subway.

    1. I remember to subway tokens when I was in NYC in the 70’s and 80’s. Now, can get by with a pre-payed card – which is dangerous because I can think of some many places to go. Then again, I try to walk as much as possible – so maybe that is a good balance. This morning I’m going up to Buckingham Palace and will probably walk. Also to Harrods – but will take the “tube” when I visit Soho. I may have dinner with a friend tonight so may not get my update posted until tomorrow.
